H2O (Water) – Curated exhibition with juror Dina Mitrani
H20, water, our life blood. Being a southern California resident, I am reminded on a daily basis the importance of H2O. There isn’t a day that goes by that there isn’t some discussion about water, and I’m not just talking about the office water cooler. For me, water has always been calming and rejuvenating. It’s always been a favorite subject for me photographically, whether it’s the ocean, lakes or streams, or the places where water has changed the face of the land and the people who live on it. My image, Ripple, from the “Solace of Space” series, was chosen for this show about water. It is for me one the most calming images I have ever created. I never tire of looking at it.
About The Center for Fine Art Photography
Founded in 2004 by photographers, The Center for Fine Art Photography is a nonprofit organization supported by donations, grants, and memberships. They offer three public galleries, classrooms, and our main office in Fort Collins, Colorado. They provide support to photographic artists through exhibition, promotion, education and connection to a large community of artists, curators, gallery owners and industry leading photographic professionals.
Through their themed Calls for Entry, C4FAP offers photographic artists at every level the chance to have their work seen by industry leading professionals. Each juror infuses new insights and perspectives into every exhibit. Past jurors have included, Mona Kuhn, Charles Guice, Mary Ellen Mark, Amy Arbus and Andy Adams.
They welcome all forms of photography, from hand-built cameras to modern digital processes. The themes are open to artist interpretation and this freedom brings amazing results. The Center shows innovative imagery and emerging creative trends with each new show. They welcome all levels of photographic artists to submit their work.
